If you’ve ever needed hair care products fast and in a hurry, but didn’t have a beauty supply story nearby, Way Slay is what you’ve needed. The start up brand delivers beauty supplies in as little as 20 minutes.

Ian Grant and his partner Mike James are two men with the idea to transfer the beauty industry. They’ve created the beauty story delivery app, Way Slay, with plans to expand it across South Florida and around the country. In this episode, Ian shares the disappointing stat of the lack of Black-owned beauty stores and the need for Black entrepreneurs to to own more of the supply chain in the beauty industry.

There’s about 180 beauty supply stores in Miami-Dade County alone and less than 5 of that is Black-owned. When you go to a beauty supply store here and anywhere in the US we continue to see that the ownership doesn’t reflect the buyers.
