Dr. Bernard Ashby is a cardiologist in Miami Beach, Florida and is affiliated with Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is also a full-time attending and assistant professor at Columbia University’s Division of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center where he also sees patients in addition to Mount Sinai Aventura, located at 2845 Aventura Blvd.

Dr. Ashby is a vascular cardiologist who specializes in both clinical cardiology and vascular medicine.  His areas of expertise include cardiovascular disease risk assessment and prevention, heart failure, dyslipidemias, resistant hypertension, peripheral artery disease, aortic aneurysms, carotid and renal artery disease, venous disease, rare vascular diseases, and limb salvage.

Dr. Ashby attended medical school at Cornell University in New York and studied health policy at Princeton University in New Jersey.  He completed his internship and residency at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, where he was also an assistant professor in the department of medicine. He completed his cardiology training at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC, where he was named chief fellow. Dr. Ashby also completed a postdoctoral clinical and research fellowship in vascular medicine at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Ashby is of Caribbean descent and originally from South Florida.
